When treating muscular injuries, it is important to think about the role that muscle plays. We have muscles to move joints, and when a muscle is damaged, the function of that joint can also be affected. Joints controlled by damaged muscles are under higher stress than normal, and could degenerate or become injured at a higher rate if the muscle is left untreated. Therefore, when we have muscular injuries, it is vital to address not only the muscle that is affected, but also the joint that muscle controls.
